SDIMI 2005 Venue

The Conference was held at Institute of Mining Engineering I, RWTH Aachen University Germany between May 18 – 20, 2005. It was part of the Aachen International Mining Symposia and was held under the Auspices of European Association of Mining Industries (Euromines), German Mining Association (WVB), Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME) and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Labor.

SDIMI 2005 Objectives

The objective of this Conference was to assist the mining and minerals industries in their global transition to sustainable development. The main theme of the meeting was the development, monitoring and assessment of sustainable development criteria for mineral operations. A goal of the Conference was also to conclude with a consensus plan and a process which can provide audience to the minerals community on the path to sustainable development.
